SINOPSIS

 

Cuenta la historia de Ignacio (31), quien tiene una obsesión con la figura de su tío, Jaime Guzmán Errázuriz, colaborador en asuntos jurídicos y políticos del Régimen Militar del general Augusto Pinochet y principal creador de la Constitución de 1980 y a quien decide interpretar en una obra de teatro. Después de algunos intentos logra persuadir a Mateo Iribarren (47) para que sea el director de la obra. Durante el proceso de convocatoria de los actores Ignacio se ve enfrentado a negativas que genera la imagen de Guzmán dentro del mismo gremio donde hay tendencias políticas opuestas, que no permiten la participación de algunos actores más radicales en el montaje. A pesar de estos rechazos, forman un elenco. Comienzan los ensayos y un proceso creativo intenso. Asimismo veremos las vidas inestables de estos actores, llevadas a la franca exposición. Estrenan en el Campus Oriente de la Universidad Católica de Chile donde Jaime fue profesor de Derecho Constitucional. En el debut de la obra Ignacio muere, en circunstancias desconocidas y en el mismo lugar donde fue asesinado Jaime Guzmán Errázuriz, el 1 de abril de 1991.

 

SYNOPSIS.

The story goes that Ignacio (31) was obsessed with the figure of his uncle Jaime Guzman Errázuriz, a collaborator in legal and political matters of the Military Regime of General Augusto Pinochet and main creator of the 1980 Constitution and whom he decides to interpret in a play. After several attempts, he manages to convince Mateo Iribarren (47) to direct the play. During the process of inviting actors, Ignacio faces the negative reactions the image of Jaime Guzman generates within the theatre circles, where political trends are opposite and make the most radical actors turn down the invitation to be part of the cast. Rehearsals and an intense creative process begin. In addition, the unstable lives of these characters will also be revealed. They screen in the West campus of the Chilean Catholic University, where Jaime taught Constitutional Law. The day of the debut Ignacio dies in unknown circumstances and in the same place where Jaime Guzman Errázuriz had been shot, on April 1st 1991.
